Long Term Care Ombudsman Program Celebrates Success of 5th Annual Pajama Drive
Fort Wayne, IN - The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is delighted to announce the successful distribution of 550 pairs of pajamas to residents of long-term care facilities throughout Northeast Indiana. This initiative, led by Executive Director Zanzy Lewis, aims to bring warmth and comfort to those who call these facilities home.
Expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community, Lewis highlighted the significance of the Pajama Drive. "Our goal was to ensure that every resident in the area we serve has a pair of pajamas to call their own," said Lewis. "Thanks to the generous contributions from our supporters, we are able to provide not just physical comfort but also a sense of care and compassion to these individuals."
The Pajama Drive is a key part of the Ombudsman Program's broader mission to champion resident-driven advocacy. Beyond providing cozy sleepwear, the program strives to uphold residents' fundamental rights, including protection from abuse and the right to voice grievances without fear of retaliation. By empowering residents and their families to advocate for themselves, the program fosters an environment where their voices are heard and respected.
As the distribution of these donations begins, the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is filled with excitement and gratitude for the positive impact this initiative will have on the lives of residents. "This is more than just about pajamas," added Lewis. "It's about showing our commitment to the well-being and dignity of those we serve."
The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the Pajama Drive, supporting their ongoing mission to provide comfort and advocacy to residents of long-term care facilities in Northeast Indiana
